Mouse

Modes

ArkKVM provides two mouse interaction modes, allowing you to choose the most suitable behavior based on your system environment:

  • Absolute Mode
    • Sends precise X/Y coordinates to the target system. This is commonly used by touchscreens and tablets.
    • ArkKVM uses Absolute Mode by default for a smoother and more intuitive experience.
    • Absolute mode maps your mouse position directly to the remote screen, making it easier to control in most situations.
  • Relative Mode
    • Sends only movement deltas instead of fixed coordinates, similar to a standard physical mouse.
    • This mode is particularly useful in BIOS/UEFI environments where absolute positioning is not supported.
    • When enabled, your browser will exclusively capture mouse input once you click inside the remote screen.
    • Relative mode behaves like a traditional PC mouse and is useful for specific applications.

Scrolling Speed

Reduce scrolling speed on the remote system. Essentially, adjust how quickly scroll events are sent to the remote system.

Scrolling is transmitted as a series of small input events. While the default setting is Off, increasing it slightly can make scrolling feel more natural and closer to your local experience.

Mouse Jiggler

Mouse Jiggler keeps the system active by simulating input, preventing sleep, screen lock, and HDMI signal loss — especially useful for remote access and unattended systems.

How to Enable

Go to Toolbar → Settings → Mouse Settings → Mouse Jiggler, then select a time interval.

How It Works

  • ArkKVM tracks the time since the last user interaction (mouse or keyboard)
  • If no activity is detected for 30 seconds, it triggers a small cursor movement (currently to position X:1, Y:1)
  • This action repeats every 30 seconds until user input resumes

Key Behaviors

  • Runs independently on the device
  • Continues working even if the web UI is closed
  • Non-intrusive
  • Any user input resets the timer, ensuring no interference during active use

Additional Setting

  • Hide Cursor
    • Hides the local UI cursor and leaves only the remote system cursor visible.
    • Recommended for low-latency sessions.

Keyboard

Paste from Host

The Paste from Host feature allows you to transfer text directly from your local machine to the remote system.

You can access it via the Tool bar.

Smart Input Handling

When text is pasted into the input field, ArkKVM will:

  • Automatically analyze the content
  • Detect the language and character pattern
  • Apply appropriate key mapping before sending input

This helps improve input accuracy across different languages and layouts, even though the system currently operates on a US keyboard mapping.

Keyboard Layout Support

ArkKVM currently supports the following keyboard layouts:

  • English (US)
  • English (UK)
  • Čeština
  • Deutsch (Germany)
  • Deutsch (Switzerland)
  • Nederlands (Belgium)

We are continuously expanding layout support, and additional languages will be introduced in future updates.

Virtual Keyboard

ArkKVM includes a built-in virtual keyboard, allowing you to:

  • Send individual keystrokes
  • Interact with systems when a physical keyboard is unavailable
  • Perform basic input operations directly from the UI
  • Use common key combinations (e.g. Ctrl + Alt + Del)
