Two-way Audio
ArkKVM supports two-way audio, allowing you to both hear audio from the remote system and use your local microphone in remote applications.
How It Works
Audio behaves differently depending on the direction:
- Remote system → You (Playback):
- Audio is captured through HDMI and played in your browser.
- You → Remote system (Microphone):
- Your local microphone is sent to ArkKVM and appears as a USB audio device (microphone) on the remote system.
When to Use It
- Listen to system sounds or alerts
- Join meetings or voice calls on the remote system
- Use voice input in applications
Microphone Setup (by OS)
In some cases, you may need to manually select the ArkKVM audio device on the remote system.
Windows
- Go to
Settings → System → Sound → Input - Select
Capture input terminal (Source/Sink) - Ensure local computer browser microphone permission is enabled
macOS
- Go to
System Settings → Sound → Input - Select
Capture Inactive - Ensure browser microphone permission is enabled
Linux (Ubuntu)
- Go to
Settings → Sound → Input - Select
Analog Input - ARKKVM V1 - You may need to check PulseAudio or PipeWire settings
The device name may vary depending on the system.
Important Notes
- Make sure your local browser(HTTPS mode) has permission to use your microphone
- Select the right audio device in the remote system if needed
- Audio quality depends on your network connection
tip
- If there's no sound, check that your HDMI source supports audio output. Some older devices or adapters may not support audio over HDMI.
- If the microphone is not working, verify browser permissions and device selection
