Troubleshooting
Unable to Start Video Stream
If your connection gets stuck on loading video, it usually means the video session could not be established. This is commonly related to WebRTC, network conditions, or video input issues.
Follow the steps below:
1. Check HDMI Input (Most Common)
Make sure ArkKVM is receiving a valid video signal:
- Confirm the HDMI cable is properly connected
- Ensure the target system is powered on
- Check if the monitor output is active (try connecting a real monitor if unsure)
If no video signal is detected, the stream cannot start.
2. Update ArkKVM Firmware
- Open the ArkKVM web interface
- Go to Settings → Check for Updates
- Install any available updates
- Try again
3. Check Your Browser
- Disable extensions (ad blockers, privacy tools, security plugins)
- Try a different browser (Chrome or Edge recommended)
- Ensure WebRTC is enabled
4. Check Your Network
WebRTC requires proper network conditions:
- Avoid VPNs or temporarily disable them
- Avoid corporate or restricted networks
- For local access, ensure both devices are on the same network
5. Check Firewall / Router Settings
Some networks block WebRTC traffic:
- Ensure UDP traffic is not blocked
- Check firewall rules (especially on routers or enterprise networks)
- If using relay services, verify STUN/TURN connectivity
6. Restart and Retry
- Refresh the browser page
- Restart ArkKVM
- Reboot the target system if needed
Still Not Working?
Try isolating the issue:
- Test from another device (phone / laptop)
- Test from another network
- Check if the Web UI loads but video fails
If the UI works but video does not, the issue is likely related to WebRTC or video input.
Keyboard & Mouse Not Working
If keyboard or mouse input is not working, it usually means the USB input is not reaching the target system.
Follow the steps below:
1. Check USB Connection (Most Common)
ArkKVM requires a USB connection to send input:
- Ensure the USB cable is connected to the target system
- Try reconnecting the USB cable
- Try a different USB port
Without USB, keyboard and mouse will not work.
2. Check Target System
- Ensure the system is powered on
- In BIOS/UEFI, confirm USB input is enabled
- Wait a few seconds after boot for USB detection
3. Verify USB Recognition
Check if ArkKVM is detected:
- Windows: look for a USB HID device
- Linux: run
lsusb - macOS: System Information → USB
If no device appears, the issue is USB-related.
4. Check Session and Settings
- Ensure the session is active and focused
- Try reconnecting
- Verify USB / HID settings
5. Try Different Mouse Mode
- Switch between Absolute Mode and Relative Mode
- If movement works but clicks feel off, this is often the cause
Common Issues and What They Mean
Mouse Cursor Cannot Enter the Remote Screen
What you see:
- Video works
- Cursor cannot enter the remote screen
Cause:
- USB is connected to the wrong device (local instead of target)
Fix:
- Connect USB to the target system
Cursor Becomes Misaligned (Offset Increases Toward Edges)
What you see:
- Cursor aligns near center
- Offset increases toward edges
Cause:
- HDMI capture resolution does not match display output
Common reasons:
- Resolution higher than 1920×1080
- Black borders from GPU scaling
Fix:
- Set resolution to 1920×1080
- Update graphics driver
- Disable scaling / letterboxing
Mouse Works, But Windows/Apps Are Not Visible
What you see:
- Clicks work
- But windows don't appear
Cause:
- System is using extended display mode
Fix:
- Switch to Duplicate / Mirror display
- Or move windows to the captured screen
Browser and Input Issues
- Click inside the video area to ensure focus
- Try another browser (Chrome or Edge recommended)
- Disable interfering extensions
Environment Restrictions
Some environments may block USB input:
- Secure boot / enterprise policies
- Virtual machines with restricted USB passthrough
- Nested remote sessions (RDP / VNC)
Still Not Working?
- Test with another computer
- Try a different USB cable
- Check if video works but input does not
If video works but input doesn't, it is almost always USB-related.
ATX Power Control Not Working
If ATX control does not respond, it is usually due to wiring issues.
1. Check F_PANEL Connections (Most Common)
- Ensure all pins match your motherboard manual
- Verify polarity (+/–), especially for LEDs
Even one incorrect pin can break functionality.
2. Test Physical Power Button
- If the case button doesn't work -> wiring issue
3. Check ATX Board Connections
- Power Switch -> BTN PWR + / –
- Reset Switch -> BTN RST + / –
- Power LED -> LED PWR + / –
- HDD LED -> LED HDD + / –
4. Verify Cable Routing
- Ensure connections are firm
- Check for misaligned pins
